Devotional from "Jesus Today" by Sarah Young

"You belong to Me. I have chosen you and called you out of darkness into My marvelous light. The fact that you belong to Me – now and forever – Provides a firm foundation for your life. This connection with Me can protect you from feeling cut off or a drift in your ever changing world. Many people attach themselves to hurtful people or harmful things because they yearned to escape their aloneness. BUT, since you are mine you are NEVER alone. I chose you before the creation of the world, and you are a permanent member of My Royal Family.
You used to walk in spiritual darkness before you trusted me as your Savior. I personally brought you out of that darkness into my light – so that you might proclaim my praises. This is a delightful privilege and responsibility. I have entrusted you with the task of telling others about My awesome qualities. To carry out this assignment effectively, you need to delve into the riches of
Who I AM by studying my Word. You also need to delight yourself in me. Then the JOY of my presence will shine from your face as you tell others about me."

You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, his own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. – 1 Peter 2:9

Praise be to the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ, he has blessed us in the heavenly rounds with every spiritual blessing in Christ for He chose us in him before the Creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. – Ephesians 1:3 – 4

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. – Psalm 37:4

Between "Bethel" and "Ai"

And I was reading Genesis 13 a few weeks ago, Verses three and four stood out to me. It says that Abraham traveled back to the area where he had been before between Bethel and Ai. He had previously built an altar in this place and as he came back to this place and called upon the name of the Lord. It doesn't seem like a very big detail when you just read it like that but when you realize what the names mean in that very passage it rocks your world and make You want to sacrifice praise to God no matter what you are going through. We are all on a journey in this life and it is about getting to know our Father God. We GET TO BE IN HIS PRESENCE only because the precious blood of Jesus!! We get totally wrecked by God and our lives are NEVER
The same! Hallelujah!!
Anyway, we all have times where we go back to the place that we came from between Bethel (the house of God) and Ai (heap of ashes). It is in that very place where we first called upon the name of the Lord. Our lives may be in a heap of ashes at that moment and we realize that somehow someway we have totally made a mess that we can't fix ourselves. So, we call out for rescue and because of Gods amazing grace, our lives are restored. We are brought from the ash heap to the place where God dwells-His house-which in the New Testament is HIS CHURCH. We seem to be okay for a while but then every now and then, The Lord leads us through a season where we are brought right back to this very same place and we are reminded that The Lord is still The Lord is still Lord Over our heap of ashes . Hallelujah! I pray that we grow more mature in our knowledge of Him and realize that HE TRULY IS LORD OVER ALL! let this day be the year that we truly SURRENDER ALL TO JESUS and be WHO He has created us to be! This Journey with Jesus is the greatest adventure we could ever be on. EVERYTHING we go through is just a way to get to know Him more. WOW!!! So if you have ever been to the place of the heap of ashes and things you though would last forever are now all burned up and you haven't quite made it to the house where God dwells, just keep on this journey with Jesus and you will see BEAUTY soon! He promises to give you BEAUTY for those ashes! NEVER GIVE UP!!  Quitting is not an option in the Kingdom of God!!

REST

This morning I have woke up extremely exhausted for some reason. I have been overcoming several challenges lately, But sometimes the more you overcome the more you realize just how much you still have yet to Overcome. I believe this is part of the negative thinking that I am now tackling with a vengeance. It has went around in my mind for way too much time and it is time for my mind to be totally renewed. Anyway, this morning I opened my devotional and this is what it says it is from "Jesus today" by Sarah Young:

I will fight for you; you need only to be still. I know how weary you are, my child. You have been struggling just to keep your head above water, and your strength is running low. Now is the time for you to stop striving and let me fight for you. I know this is not easy for you to do. You feel as if you must keep struggling in order to survive, but I am calling you To rest in me. I am working on your behalf; so be still, and know that I am God.

Quieting your body is somewhat challenging for you, but stilling your mind may often seem downright impossible. In your striving to feel secure, you have relied too heavily on your own thinking. This struggle to be in control has elevated your mind to a position of autonomy. So you need to ask the intervention of the Holy Spirit. Ask him to control your mind more and more – soothing you from the inside out. Take time to rest in the shadow of the Almighty while I fight for you.

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. – Exodus 14:14

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! – Psalm 46:10

The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace. – Romans 8:6

He who dwells in the shelter of the most high will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. – Psalm 91:1

Taking back what the thief stole

According to Proverbs 6:31, the thief must pay back and restore 7 times what he stole. Now we have but one thief who came to kill, steal, and destroy. If we really are taking back all that he stole, can you imagine what the 7 times greater must look like in our thoughts? My mind has been one of the greatest battlefields, but we are, as TD Jakes said this week "one thought away from a great reformation in our lives" I had been thinking about this scripture over the last few months and how The Lord has been causing me to begin to take back things that were stolen from me (my children's respect being one of the main things). Some because I was an innocent victim, but some of them because I made poor choices and some because I just wasn't wearing the "ARMOR OF GOD" that was given to me.
This week, the focus is in my thoughts. I have been attempting to "think brilliantly"as Graham has told us at "Aglow". TD Jakes is speaking about not becoming a "dumbed down" thinker. The enemy came in and tricked me into thinking that my lack of "analyzing" was a good thing because I used to "analyze" everything. I was full of faith and still analyzed. Over the years, I had some mental attacks on my mind through situations, sicknesses, and sometimes just plain sin. Somewhere in that season, I let my mind grow slow and fell into believing the lie that it might never get any better. However, I am now in the process of taking back what the enemy stole and I really believe that my greatest days are ahead. I am TRUSTING GOD IN THIS SEASON. I know there are rough times coming, BUT GOD has plans and ideas and strategies to overcome EVERY EVIL that comes our way. HE STILL SAYS "LET MY PEOPLE GO".
As the darkness surrounds us in this world, it's almost as if HE is allowing us to see with clearer vision. God is absolutely amazing!!! We really are "one thought away from reformation" HALLELUJAH!!! Anyway, this is exciting to me as I enter lots of changes coming. God is confirming this Word to me nearly everywhere I go and I can't deny that He is really revealing this clearly. He is so good at that!! I love it! Today, I choose to serve my Daddy by allowing Him to expand my mind to make room for the 7 fold return of my "brilliant" mind that God gave me. I KNOW who the thief was and he has been clearly revealed. I require recompense from tge enemy. I know mercy is poured out to flesh and blood, but 7 fold recompense is required from the main thief!

After writing all this, I read the Elijah List for today. God is really doing BIG THINGS IN ME AND MY WHOLE FAMILY!!! I am attaching this if you want to read further. Have an awesome day!!!

How To Possess the Hope of a Good Future
Erase the Borders of Limitation

Memory is the expression of imagination. It is ability to retain or recall things or events that have been imagined or experienced in the past. Memory lost is the obsession or passionate dream one fails or refuses to remember.

Foresight is the act of looking forward with a careful, thoughtful regard for the future. It is the ability to imagine things that can take place in the future. The imagination finds pleasure when it sees something that is new or exceptional. The presence of the Holy Spirit teaches our spiritual eyes of faith to see this way into the invisible. God grants us visionary access to walk into a reality that is superior to the natural realm where we exist most of the time.

Once we gain God's vision for our future, then we are able to prophesy it into existence. If we will take a leap into the future, boldly decree the things we see from God's perspective, He will establish them for us. The Holy Spirit reveals knowledge that supersedes the rationale of carnal reasoning and possesses an internal power that transforms us from the inside out.

Focused faith will cause one to realize the profound possibilities that exist in the invisible realm. Faith gives us access to the invisible realms of the spirit so we can erase the borders of limitation. The fundamental fact of existence is that faith and trust in God is the firm foundation that makes life worth living. The world was called into existence through faith in an unseen God. He commanded creative words to reveal the concealed and bring it forth into being.

Faith is the Spiritual Substance

Faith that is mixed with hope brings forth the fertile ground of a new reality out of the invisible realm of nothingness. Faith reveals the plans God has concealed in His heart. When we maintain our focus on the Lord, we are able to rest in hope, knowing we have a good inheritance. When we bless the Lord, the Holy Spirit gives us counsel and shows us the path of abundant life. Entering God's presence releases the fullness of joy so we can experience the pleasures of God forevermore.

The curious soul yearns to explore innovations and pioneer the unknown. The unknown is an open door that invites us to participate in engineering a new life. In sculpting our brilliant futures, we will encounter the unexpected as we dwell in and walk through dimensions that are beyond our control.

This season of discovery brings us to the realization that our steps are ordered by the only, all-knowing, powerful, loving God. He pours out grace, mercy and revelation knowledge to empower us to embrace the new journey every morning. Creative ideas flood the imagination, bringing gratification and delightful surprise to the ardent searchers, as they behold amazing sights that have never before been possessed, documented or even known in existence.

Faith is the spiritual substance that brings proof to the unseen eternal realm of promise and possibilities. Faith makes real the things we hope for. Faith is the proof of what we cannot see. The things we see were made by God, Who cannot be seen with our natural eyes. Faith must see through the eyes of understanding with an enlightened heart. Faith in God's Word enables our mind to be renewed by the Spirit to think like God. When our minds and hearts are renewed by hearing the words of the Holy Spirit, we become doers of the Word.

Revelation is the meat of the Word, illuminated by the Holy Spirit, that comes to us as rhema, or a "now" expression of God. Faith moves us into the now. God's Word lays a broad, strong foundation in our life for Him to build upon. God dwells in earthen vessels (see 2 Corinthians 4:7). God wants to set up His habitation within us. When God possesses us, we will imitate Him. We reflect or imitate that which we believe. Faith will cause the invisible power of the Kingdom of God to manifest in and through our life.

A Hope and a Future

God the Father grants us the Spirit of Wisdom so we can discern the future. We are instructed to have faith in God. We must also have the faith of God to see mountains removed from our life. God does not doubt. He knows and believes that the things He says will be done – they will come to pass. Therefore we must adopt this powerful, godly life principle.

Whatever we ask, when we pray, believe that we receive it and we will have it. To receive answers to our prayers, we need to pray in the name and character of God. Pray and believe that you have God's answers. See things through God's perspectives of grace. When we agree with the grace in God's heart, He will give us the desires of our heart. When sin abounds the world is terrorized, but when God's grace thrives the world is given a hope in a future.

If we do not agree with God's supernatural ways and plans, our imagination moves out of the higher realms of the Spirit and into the inferior natural realms of doubt and unbelief. When doubt reigns, faith is then limited to the temporal, that which we see with our natural eyes or know in our intellect. Unbelief sets a narrow limit on our achievement by defining what we believe is possible, so nothing great can be accomplished.

When we worship God in Spirit and in truth, we are able to see with the eyes of our spiritual imagination. Faith allows us to access what is available in the realms of the invisible. Once we imagine a thing, it can be drawn into actuality. Holy Spirit opens the realms of vision so we can see His heart's desire and speak them into existence. We become the channel the Holy Spirit flows through to bring Heaven to earth. When we give expression to the move of the Holy Spirit, His presence and power will manifest on earth. The greatest power in the universe is love.

JOY REMAINS

12/26/12- Sunday 12/23/12, Don read from John 15:9-11 (“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.)
As I am pondering this, I lose whatever Don was saying and realize that as we Love God with all our heart, soul and strength and our neighbors as ourself, it causes us to “abide” in HIS LOVE which causes our JOY to be full. Then, today as I am heavy with a overwhelming depression, I am reminded that my JOY is full as I am obedient to Him. I have been obedient to Him so I have JOY. It is IN ME. It is the fruit that He promises us will remain. (The FRUIT of the Holy Spirit) It is up to me to walk in that JOY by FAITH. For we don’t look to the things that we see which are only but for a moment, but to the things that we don’t see (THE JOY THAT IS THERE). So, as I begin to praise God out loud (which is the garment that comes against a spirit of heaviness) for the JOY THAT REMAINS when I don’t even “feel” it, the eternal well of salvation (healing, wholeness, deliverance) is stirred up within me. THE JOY OF THE LORD is a strength that rises in us during battle times. The Lord ENDURED THE CROSS for the JOY set before Him. HE HAD JOY AS HE WENT THROUGH PAIN!!!!! Who has lied to us and told us different? The FATHER OF LIES HIMSELF HAS BOUND US UP…..because he doesn’t want us to be STRONG IN THE LORD AND THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT. He will do anything he can to keep you from praising your God and from declaring HIS GOODNESS! However, this day, I declare and decree that this JOY REMAINS in me and MY JOY IS FULL!!! I am MORE THAN A CONQUEROR THROUGH CHRIST!! There is a river flowing out of me and JOY overwhelms my SOUL and NEVER LETS ME GO. JOY UNSPEAKABLE JOY!!!!! He is worthy of all my radical praise. He alone is WORTHY!!! He reigns over ALL THE DEPRESSION IN THE LAND!!! Hallelujah!!!! So, even in the PAIN, HIS JOY REMAINS!!!! I will celebrate HIS GOODNESS today. Ok so then I got this in Elijah List today that goes so well with what I am receiving and sharing. Here it is:

The Well of Salvation Will Be Poured Out Over Our Nation
The following corporate prophetic word was given by Eileen Fisher on November 6, 2012 during her weekly Prophetic School of the Holy Spirit meeting in Colorado Springs, Colorado:

"I Have Sent You My Truth"

"I have asked some of you to pick up your cross and follow Me. Yet you have not understood. You have thought I have been cross with you. That is not why I have asked you to pick up your cross and follow Me. I have asked you to pick up your cross and follow Me so I can help you carry your cross; so your strength will fall and My strength will enter in. I am going to strengthen you by My Spirit. You have come and you have presented your brokenness to Me. I will not turn My back on a broken vessel, nor will I turn My back on a broken heart. I have come to heal the broken-hearted and to set the captives free.

"I say, begin to act like one who has been set free. Begin to act it out in faith, receiving your freedom. Knowing I am not a task master, but I am One who comes and stands beside you. When your cross seems heavy, allow Me to carry it and carry you also. What dies upon your cross is the flesh, and at the same time it resurrects your spirit. Your spirit becomes free and your spirit becomes alive and your spirit comes to know it can do all things through Me who strengthens your spirit. Know I will strengthen your spirit. I have not brought confusion, I have not brought condemnation. I have not brought harsh correction. I have not come to you and said, 'Pull yourself up!'

"That is not My Spirit, nor My heart, nor My intent. I have sent you My Strengthener. I have sent you My Friend. I have sent you My Counselor. I will send you My Truth, for I will not have an army bent over in terror. I will have an army bent over in awe; in awe of the King of kings who has entered in. When He enters in, He is pulling His own into Himself and taking them and presenting them to the Father so the Father can seal them with His love of approval. I have not brought you a spirit of fear. I have not brought you the spirit of disappointment.

"My Hand is Moving Across Your Nation in a Miraculous Way"

"I have not brought you to allow you to be confused and lost. I have brought you into Myself to protect you, to heal you, to have you come to understand I have died so that you may have life abundantly. Choose the abundant life in My Spirit. Look not to man. Look not to man for your answer. Look not to man for strength, from the army of man, but look to the hand of the Lord your God. It is not too weak to where it cannot come against the weakness of the hand of man. I want you to understand My hand can become gentle when it needs to become gentle.

"My hand can be so strong when it needs to lead My own out. I am able to be all things for all My people. I take a child and I gently, very gently, lift that child up to My Father and will speak forth blessings and a future. I take those of all ages and I place them under Myself and hold and sing over My saints so I can bless them. I cause the young men who are weak and weary to rise up and to run fresh and in My strength. I take My women and place dignity, honor, and respect upon them to where their names will be called blessed, because I call them blessed women.

"Understand I am the God of gentleness. I am the God of power and might. I can be all things necessary to rescue and save My own. Look not to man but look to Me, the Lord your God, for My hand is moving across your nation in a miraculous way," says the Lord your God.

"You will hear a miraculous report of the Lord. You will dance in the streets and you will sing and you will declare, 'All is well!' I will say until you, sing it in faith, sing it when you are alone, declare it, decree it, and so it shall be: All shall be well because the well of salvation is going to be poured out fresh over your nation. I am causing places that have been dry to open up to My reign. I will come down and you will hear, 'Let us go to the sanctuary of the Lord our God and be dipped in the well of our own salvation," says the Lord your God.

Gaze at me; Glance at problems

This morning's devotional taken from "Jesus Today" by Sarah Young

Gaze at Me; Glance at problems – THIS is the secret of living victoriously. Your tendency is to gaze at problems for prolonged periods of time, glancing at Me for help. This is natural for someone with a fallen mind living in a fallen world. However, I have called you to live supernaturally, and I have empowered you to do so. The Holy Spirit, who lives in all my followers, enables you to live beyond yourself – to transcend your natural tendencies.
Ask My Spirit to help you fix your gaze on Me. Invite him to alert you whenever you get overly focused on your problems so you can redirect your attention to Me. This is hard work, because it is not only unnatural but also countercultural. Moreover, the evil one and his demons seek to distract you from My Presence.
All these influences working together put massive pressure on you to pay attention to your problems – or else! So you need the assistance of My Spirit continually. Ask Him to help you deal with difficulties as needed, while reserving the bulk of your attention for Me – your constant companion.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. – Hebrews 12:2

I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Helper, That he may abide with you forever – the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. – John 14:16 – 17

We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. – 2 Corinthians 4:18

Wise Men ( and I might add children) STILL SEEK HIM

I Read the article below from Elijah list the other day and I wanted to share! We must SEE JESUS IN US! The Lord says SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD and ALL THESE THINGS shall be added unto you. If you have truly believed upon the LORD JESUS (by believing I mean that you don't just know He was crucified and rose from the dead- even the demons know that, but do you believe so deeply othat you are willing to die for Him) then you have the Kingdom of God living in you- HIS NAME IS JESUS and He still operates in the miraculous. Just be willing to die to your reasoning and Pride and reputation. Anyway, here is the article. I want to add that a few days before I read this one, The Lord said to me "The light appears brighter in gross darkness and those who are of the light will see (understand and recognize) it. Those in unbelief will not see the glory of God that will arise when the darkness covers the earth. Only those who were looking for the star new where to go. I am revealing my love and my Truth. Nothing takes me by surprise and these things really will work together Who is the good of those who love me tender called according to my purposes."
Here is the article:

Paulette Reed:
Follow the Star - Wise Men Still Seek Him
Heavenly Assignment

It was a rather mundane afternoon as I sat at my desk several years ago. I knew in my spirit that a season of life was coming to an end. I was just trying to finish strong and wait on Holy Spirit for my next assignment.

As I plowed through mountains of administrative work, I looked up, and there, on the ivory painted wall, was handwriting. Hmm, I thought to myself, this seems Biblical to me! A beautiful calligraphy font scrolled in front of my eyes: "Paulette, fill the earth with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord" (see Habakkuk 2:14) – a mandate from Heaven, and then whoosh, it disappeared. Even though that was several years ago, to this day I'm totally honored to walk out God's word over my life. What an adventure!

Examining the Scripture from Habakkuk in the Hebrew brings out some interesting truths: "For the earth shall be filled with the observable manifestation of the goodness of God, His manifest presence, honor, riches, and power among the [mature] sons [and daughters] as the Word of God covers the people. God will confirm and demonstrate His Word in your presence to show His goodness and the Kingdom shall advance" (Habakkuk 2:14 paraphrase).

Wow! I don't want to miss anything God has in store for the earth. How about you? If it's Jesus, I want it. How could we miss the filling that's coming? One way might be entertaining unbelief, which could cause spiritual blindness of observable manifestations; another way could be unpreparedness for the demonstration of God's Word. Proverbs 4:5 tells us to get ready: "Acquire wisdom! Acquire understanding! Do not forget nor turn away from the words of My mouth." Maybe fear tries to stand in the way of encountering the supernatural acts of God – like handwriting on the wall, for example.

The Visit of the Magi

Today, let's recount the birth of Christ from what might be a little different perspective for some – a supernatural perspective.

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him." When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. Gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Messiah was to be born. They said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea; for this is what has been written by the prophet: 'And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah, are by no means least among the leaders of Judah; for out of you shall come forth a Ruler who will shepherd My people Israel.'"

Then Herod secretly called the magi and determined from them the exact time the star appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and search carefully for the Child; and when you have found Him, report to me, so that I too may come and worship Him." After hearing the king, they went their way; and the star, which they had seen in the east, went on before them until it came and stood over the place where the Child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. And having been warned by God in a dream not to return to Herod, the magi left for their own country by another way.

Now when they had gone, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, "Get up! Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you; for Herod is going to search for the Child to destroy Him." So Joseph got up and took the Child and His mother while it was still night, and left for Egypt. Matthew 2:1-14

Explosion

Well, there you have it. It's amazing to see how the New Covenant immediately explodes into the supernatural acts of God. In just 14 verses we see signs and wonders, prophecy, visions, angelic visitations, and prophetic dreams.

How wonderful to know that these acts of God validate different forms of communication He uses to speak to His people. Of course, we see these and many more supernatural encounters all the way from Genesis to Revelation.

His Name is Jesus, Which Means "To Save"

Let's take note of how our story in Matthew 2 reminds us that the Savior, who is the Truth, was and is for everyone.

There were wise men who followed a star to see Jesus. Now, these guys were magi, or astrologers, from the royal court of Persia; and one of their roles was to make the king of Persia look great. But here they were, following a star so they could promote another King – the real King. Would we really expect magi to worship Jesus? I mean, really? They were accustomed to kings being in a royal palace, not born in a stable. So the fact that they were led, not only to follow a star, but for such a specific purpose as this, is surely supernatural.

It's wonderful to know that the birth of the Savior was for everyone! Later on in the New Covenant, we read that Jesus is not willing that any should perish (see 2 Peter 3:9). What a great life lesson here as we're reminded not to be biased toward pre-believers. Perhaps the wise men even humbled Believers a bit. I mean, they not only traveled for miles and miles to find Jesus, but they were also prepared to worship a King they had never met. And they took just the right gifts to lie at His feet. Whereas, we sometimes complain if we have to drive more than 20 minutes, and then we approach the King empty handed.

It's almost comical, really. Here we have Herod, who was paranoid and territorial, believing that there could never be another king who could even come near his turf. For he had his political system in place and his "kingdom" all set up with brutality and false power. And then, along comes a little baby in a manger. A baby who was 100% dependent on God. A King who would rule the world.

If we keep looking closely at Matthew 2, we see more supernatural works of the Lord. For example, somehow the wise men knew the Messiah was royalty. Somehow, they knew that Jesus was the King who had all authority (later declared in Matthew 28:18). And then, by a dream from God, supernatural revelation was revealed to them so they knew they were not to return by way of Jerusalem.

Who would have thought that the magi would be some of the very first to receive the Good News – His name is Emmanuel, God with us? It appears that the star in the East was exactly the sign and wonder they needed...to make then wonder.

Establishing Your Dreams

In the prophetic message in Matthew 2, we see some guidelines set by Heaven on what it takes to establish the dreams of God in our own lives.

First, dreams are to be prophesied. Herod inquired of the people where the Messiah was to be born. And they said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea; for this is what has been written by the prophet" (Matthew 2:5), and then they went on to quote Micah 5:2, which was written nearly 400 years earlier. So, if you think you're tired of waiting for your dreams to come true, hold on! Amos 3:7 reminds us, "Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets." So, prophesying over your dreams of God is crucial.

Secondly, we must be careful not to despise humble beginnings (see Zechariah 4:10). Who would have ever imagined that the King of kings would be born in a stable and become poor so that we might be rich?

The third guideline is to be aware that not everyone will be as excited as you are about the birth of a dream. In fact, Joseph couldn't even find room in the inn for Mary to deliver. And the evil Herod reminds us that our enemy is a liar. He said he wanted to know where the baby was born so he could visit Him, but in actuality he planned to kill "the dream." It's important to remember that everyone sitting in the front row might not be your greatest fan. And, it's also important to remember that we must learn to delight in hiddenness until it's time for God to send out birth announcements.

Next, timing is very important. The enemy wanted to know the exact time the star appeared in the sky (see Matthew 2:7-8, 16). Then, by calculating the distance it had traveled, he could figure out when the baby was born and how old it would be. Later, he carried out an evil plan to have all the baby boys killed who were two years old and under. But the good news is that God's timing is perfect; and if we stay in the rhythm of Heaven, He will give us supernatural wisdom to protect the dream He has placed within us.

We must also remember to constantly rejoice while waiting for our dream. There's power in praise and it changes the atmosphere. "When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy" (Matthew 2:10). How exciting! Can you even imagine being out in a field and the heavens open up? Oh, how rejoicing through prayer and praise produces joy deep within our hearts. This also leads to honor, which is very important in the establishing of our dreams. When the dreams of God are born, we honor the Dream Giver just as the wise men fell to the ground and worshiped the King (see Matthew 2:11).

The sixth guideline we're to remember is that there is always provision for the vision. The magi brought gold, frankincense, and myrrh (see Matthew 2:11). I believe they represent the fact that God will supply everything that is needed for the dream. Gold is a gift fit for a king. Frankincense symbolizes incense, the burning of which represents prayer. It is used by priests, and indicates the priestly nature of the Messiah. And myrrh is a fragrant perfume, used in embalming bodies. The inclusion of this gift can be seen as prophetic of the death of the Messiah. The three gifts together give prominence to Messiah's three offices: prophet, priest, and king.

And lastly, to establish our dreams we must be constantly obedient. We have to know when it's time to stay and when it's time to move the "baby." We see in Matthew 2:13 that an angel appeared and told Mary and Joseph to go so that they would be protected from Herod.

Wise Men Still Seek Him

Revelation 22:16 tells us that Jesus is The Bright Morning Star. He is splendid, magnificent, and radiant with a glorious brilliance that never fades away.

Surely God longs for us to follow The Star rather than being pushed by our problems. Are you following Jesus today? If not, you can be. It's so simple to invite Him into your heart and be born from above. And we might ask ourselves if we're aligned with the supernatural, prophetic words that we've received throughout the years. Are we writing down the prophetic dreams we receive? Do we keep peace on earth and goodwill toward men, as we maintain a quiet confidence and remain 100% dependent on God, realizing that our supernatural destiny reaches far beyond our natural abilities?
